Kailash A. Hambarde

Profile

My work is long-range and aerial-ground person recognition: identity matching when viewpoint, altitude, and distance collapse standard biometric cues. I released DetReIDX as an IEEE T-BIOM stress-test benchmark, co-organised VReID-XFD at WACV 2026, and serve as guest editor of the T-BIOM special issue on Human Recognition in Aerial Surveillance (deadline 15 December 2026). I have delivered research under Portuguese PRR, PT2020/FEDER, and a DL 57/2016 researcher contract, and coordinated a six-university effort that produced both the dataset and the workshop. Independent collaborations include QUT, IIT Mandi, and Istanbul Medipol. Aerial biometrics is dual-use; datasets are research benchmarks, not operational surveillance systems.
